Actor and presenter Stephen Fry adopted part of a Cambridgeshire fen as a gift for his mother on Mothers’ Day.
Fry is president of the Great Fen Project, which aims to create a 3,700 hectare wetland in the county.
It raises money for the scheme by allowing people to sponsor a hectare of land near two nature reserves.
The message Fry wrote on his mother’s land adoption certificate and plaque said: “Dearest Mama, your very own piece of wetland to romp in and enjoy. Much much love from your doting son, Stephen.”
