Many stars may take this time of year to make a donation to charoty, but Beyoncé has given all of her $4million salary from a new film, Cadillac Records, to help a group of US drug treatment centres. Phoenix House runs 98 residential and outpatient rehab programmes in nine states.
Beyoncé plays blues and soul legend Etta James in Cadillac Records. She was inspired to make the unusual gift after spending two weeks with drug addicts as part of her research for the role. Karen Sodomick, of Phoenix House confirmed Beyoncé had given the “overwhelmingly generous” gift, but added, “Beyoncé wants to remain a quiet supporter.”
Beyoncé’s third solo album I Am…Sasha Fierce is currently a worldwide chart topper.
