The latest James Bond film has smashed takings records previously held by “Die Another Day”. According to news agency Reuters, “Quantum of Solace” sold $70.4 million (47.7 million pounds) worth of tickets in its first three days of release across the United States and Canada, beating the previous record by more than $20 million. Daniel Craig’s darker, more complex Bond seems to be proving a winner in the UK too. Britain was the top foreign market with sales to date of $64.1 million. Marc Forster, the Swiss-German director of the film has come up with a winning formula giving a gift to Bond fans everywhere.
