Despite predictions that she was bound to win, Diana Vickers has headed out of this week’s X-Factor semi-final. Vickers, 17, has had mixed results over the previous few weeks, with the gift of one week out for laryngitis, but has remained one of the judges’ favourites throughout. She sang Avril Lavigne’s ‘Girlfriend’ and Dido’s ‘White Flag’, and gained praise for both performances, but it was’t enough. Diana says that she is proud to have left the show on a high. Speaking on The Xtra Factor, she commented, “I’m just pleased with myself. I had an amazing night. I went out on a night that I was amazing. We’ll just see what happens.”
However it is reported that she blames her outfit for her failure to get through. A source told the Daily Star, “Diana has been left feeling other people have been getting better and sexier clothes than her. She really thinks she’s been losing out”.
Next weekend’s final will feature Eoghan, Alexandra, and JLS.
