Harry Potter Head To Be A New Dad At 68

by Antonia on November 5, 2008

Sir Michael Gambon who plays Albus Dumbledore in the popular Harry Potter films is to become a dad again, at the age of 68. He has a 44 year old son with his wife, Lady Anne Gambon, and a 17 month old son Michael with Philippa Hart. The Mail reports a family friend saying, “Philippa wanted a brother or sister for little Michael because when he gets into its teens, it’s possible Sir Michael might not be around. Philippa felt it important her son had a sibling. She’s also in her forties, so this could be the last chance for more kids.”

Gambon met Hart while working the set of the 2000 film Longitude. Philippa Hart is a set designer and Gambon starred in the film as 18th-century watchmaker John Harrison. Gambon is well know for his role in the Singing Detective, still popular in DVD gift sets.
