After a busy couple of weeks over half term, it seems like every pre-teen in the UK has been to see High School Musical 3: Senior Year. And it is the same situation in the US, where Walt Disney Co’s musical earned about $15 million over the three day Halowe’en weekend. The film is currently at number one in 26 different countries.
The good news for High School Musical fans is that Mark Zoradi, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group says it is “very likely” that there will be a sequel. With Troy and Gabriella off to college in California, will we be seeing Jimmy ‘Rocketman’ Zara and Tiara Gold leading the next effort? Could be interesting, but do you feel that High School Musical 4 is likely to be driven by the profit potential. The HSM franchise is turning into a no-fail gift for Disney.
