Liam Neeson’s new film, Taken, has grabbed the No. 1 spot in US box offices this weekend, after coming out in 2008 in the UK. The film stars the actor as a former spy who must rescue his daughter from modern-day slave traders. Fortunately for daughter Kim, actress Maggie Grace, the kidnapping takes place while she is on the phone to ex-CIA dad Neeson.
Irish actor Neeson has a varied career, from voicing Aslan in the Chronicles of Narnia series to a forthcoming appearance as Abraham Lincoln scheduled for 2011. After a crash on his Harley Davidson in 2000 he insisted doctors carefully cut his jacket off him as it was a gift from Steven Spielberg. He is married to Natasha Richardson and lives in New York.
