Oprah’s School Gift

by Antonia on January 7, 2009

Another unusual gift from Oprah Winfrey to start 2009. The star has an ongoing committment to a school in South Africa, and has now stepped in with a gift to save a school in Atlanta, Georgia. She has donated $365,000 to a school for low-income kids to that ensure the Ron Clark Academy has sufficient funding to continue providing education for 80 students.

The principal, Ron Clark, founded the school with proceeds from a book. He says, “”We teach school all day and fundraise at night. To have an unsolicited gift come like that is incredible.”
