Sad news, recently. Paul Newman died due to lung cancer complications. The star whose career spanned more than fifty years was best known for films like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He also starred with his wife Joanne Woodward in films including The Long Hot Summer and Mr and Mrs Bridge. His last appearance on screen was in Road to Perdition with Tom Hanks, although he continued with voiceover work after that, featuring in Disney Pixar’s Cars.
The Hollywood star had made charitable gifts of more than $220 million from his Newman’s Own food brand, and backed Hole in the Wall kids camps which provides a summer break for 13,000 seriously ill kids each year.
