Slumdog Millionaire’s Win: Best Picture, Director and Screenplay

This year’s Golden Globe awards show that movies don’t have to be big-budget to make it big. “Slumdog Millionaire” is a romance about a young Indian man looking for love and competing for money on a television game show. It took top ranking in the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, scoring best picture, best drama, best director and best screenplay. Composer A.R. Rahman also won the best musical score.

The awards are a gift for the Bollywood movie industry, signifying that a movie with chunks of Indian dialogue can still make it to the top.
