Tiny Tinkerbell At Tussaud’s

by Antonia on November 9, 2008

This November Peter Pan’s fairy pal becomes the tiniest star to take centre stage at Madame Tussauds London. At a minute five and a half inches tall the little madam with the big personality has been created with the same attention to detail as Madame Tussauds’ other figures, but this time on a petite pixie-size scale.

“Undoubtedly some of our celebrities are smaller than others but Tinker Bell is tiny on a scale we’ve never handled before; for context the average figure is somewhere between five and six foot tall – Tinker Bell is just five and a half inches!” says Liz Edwards of Madame Tussauds. “Our studio team is essentially employing all of the usual techniques and tools, although many have had to be sized down, and the sculptors have had to apply an even steadier and precise hand to the job!”

The studio artists have been busy studying hundreds of 3D photos and footage from the tiny superstar’s first feature length movie Tinker Bell, which is due to make its debut on DVD and Blu-Ray on November 10th. Put it on your little girl’s Christmas gift list right now.
