X Factor’s Early Number 1

by Antonia on November 8, 2008

We’re used to X Factor contestants competing for the Christmas number one slot, but they have hit the jackpot early this year with charity single ‘Hero’. All the finalists have teamed up on this hit single. All the profits will be a gift to charities Help The Heroes and The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. And the gift has just increased by 17.5% as British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has confirmed that all VAT on the track will effectively be waived.

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole had been at number one with Girls Aloud’s single The Promise, but was knocked off by the finalists. She commented, “I’d like to say thank you for supporting Hero. I don’t mind being knocked off number one – for this cause only!”
