Michael Underwood is the latest star to get the (skating) boot from Dancing on Ice, and Todd Carty was again given the gift of being saved by the public. This week’s show had the highest number of viewers of the series.
Underwood took part in a skate-off against Melinda Messenger. Prince’s Kiss was the background to the TV presenter’s routine, but the judges rated Messenger’s performance more highly. Carty scored an all time low of 7.5 for his routine which involved wriggling across the ice on his back. At least from that position he had little chance of skating out of control: last week’s performance where he made an unexpected exit reached over a million viewers on You Tube. In the Mirror, Carty commented, “I didn’t fall over, I might have made a few mistakes, but we got round.”
