Unusual Wedding Gifts – An Alternative Guest Book Idea

by I Love Unusual Gifts on August 27, 2010

When the big day finally comes and all the months of careful planning are finally coming to an end there is one thing that the bride and groom sometimes forget to factor in….time to actually enjoy themselves and speak to all their guests!  It can become a whirlwind of making sure everyone is in the right place at the right time, have the bridesmaids arrived? The makeup artist, hairdresser, flowers, rings, car, traffic, weather on the day….there is so much to think about. Once the ceremony is over the bride, groom and family are usually whisked away by the photographer for a good half hour or more.

Then it’s on to the reception, drinks upon arrival, more photos and a quick “hello thanks so much for coming” then on to the meal…then speeches and coffee  usually followed by a disco or band. Before they know it the whole day has whizzed past and they have hardly had a chance to get round to speaking to all their guests. Some of whom they may not have seen for a long time and would love to have a good chat to, but it is just not always possible as there is just not enough time.

So what is the solution to everyone wanting to come away from the wedding feeling that they at least had a chance to tell them how much it has meant to them being there to spend their special day with them? A wedding guestbook is the perfect answer to allowing each and every guest to tell the bride and groom exactly how much they have enjoyed the day and how happy they are for the special couple. It also means that the bride and groom will have those special messages or thoughts captured forever.

Rather than the usual paper form wedding guest book, we have gone one step further and found you a fabulous collection of wedding plate message plates! Yes indeed.

If you would rather give the bride and groom your own special message on a plate we have a simply gorgeous personalised wedding plate design which depicts an elegant looking bride and groom on an 8” square bone china plate.  Your personal message is printed on the plate, which gives it a very sleek finish. It costs £19.99 with free delivery.

My own personal favourites are the larger plates such as the forever and ever signing plate; it’s a sizeable 13” in diameter with a simple yet gorgeous hand painted design. It comes with a special ceramic pen and all the wedding guests sign the plate with their special message. Which I think is a wonderful alternative to a paper guest book.  It also comes in a special presentation box, we are sure it will take pride of place on the bride and groom’s wall. You simply sign it, bake it to make the messages permanent, and then enjoy it for a lifetime!
